ABOUT THE ARTIST
Art has always been a part of Heidi Adendorff’s life, but her journey to becoming an artist took a few detours. Growing up in Pretoria, South Africa, she was always drawn to creativity, but she first built a career in education. After earning her Master’s degree (MEd), she worked as an Educational Instructional Designer at the University of Johannesburg. Later, she ran her own businesses—a preschool and a party venue with a road safety center for kids.
It wasn’t until she semi-retired at 60 that she finally embraced her true passion—art. Inspired by Africa’s incredible wildlife, Heidi brings animals to life with colored pencils and oil paints, capturing their spirit and beauty in every piece. Through her work, she hopes to create a deep connection between the viewer and her subjects, celebrating nature and inspiring others to appreciate and protect the wild world.
